  • Who is Spond for?

    Spond is for anyone organizing activities for other people. It can be a soccer coach, choir conductor, scout or swim coach. Spond makes together better!

  • What are the main benefits of using Spond?

    The benefits of using Spond include being able to create custom events for practices, games or other team activities, to share information, files, photos and polls with your team. Our group administrators report that Spond saves them, on average, 2.2 hours of administrative work each week.

  • Does Spond cost money?

    Spond is free to download and use! The only cost is if you chose to collect money through Spond, then there will be a transaction fee. There are no hidden fees.

  • What is your business model?

    Our primary goal is to make organizing activities easier for administrators, parents, and participants with our free-to-use app. Spond generates revenue from a transaction fee for those who choose to collect money for their teams through the app.

  • Do I need to use the app to use Spond?

    No, once the invitation is sent out we encourage users to download the app but you can also keep receiving notifications by email if you don’t download the app. The initial group invite can be sent as an SMS but there is only a limited number of SMS per user so we do recommend registering with an email to continue receiving notifications.

  • What is the difference between the Spond app and Spond Club?

    Spond offers two integrated platforms: The Spond app (for groups and teams) & Spond Club: A complete & free membership management system, including communication & payment.

    The Spond app would be used by group admin (coaches, team managers etc.), guardians and members while Spond Club is used by the club admins.

  • How do I get started as an admin and create a group?
    1. Create a Spond profile – Try it! It’s FREE
    2. Go to your profile and click on ‘Groups’ followed by ‘Create group’
    3. Enter a group name and optionally create subgroups
    4. Specify the activity (football, choir, boating, etc.) and age group (children, adults or mixed) of your group.
    5. Create a group description which will be presented to new members when they are invited
    6. Click ‘Create group’ to finish setting up the group
    7. Edit group settings such as custom member fields or admin roles

  • How do I become a member of a group?

    A group administrator can invite you either by using your contact information or by sharing a group link/code with you. The process is slightly different depending on what is the case.

    I have not received a group code:

    1. Download the Spond app in App Store or Play Store (It’s free!)
    2. Register and create a profile in the app
    3. In the “Groups” tab, accept the group invitation.

  • Is my data secure using Spond?

    Yes, they are. Spond is completely GDPR-compliant and as stated in our privacy policy we only share your personal information with others if it is necessary to perform the service or we should be bound to such sharing by law, regulation or legal process.

  • Can I hide my contact information from other group members?

    Yes, to do this you can go into the group, then press ‘more’ > ‘contact information’ and select ‘only visible for administrators’. This is a per-group setting, so you can hide your contact information in some groups while still sharing it with members in other groups.

  • Why can’t I find a group?

    It is not possible to manually search for a specific group, as Spond only generates closed groups. You will be automatically added to a group if you are invited by the group administrator.

    If you have been invited but cannot see the group or group invitation when you log in, ask the administrator if they have added you with the same contact info as you registered with.

  • How does the app work for me as a guardian?

    As a guardian you will be able to manage all of your children’s Spond invitations and receive push notifications when new information is added to the group. If a child is old enough to reply for themselves, it is also possible to add a contact point for the child (member). There is no limit as to how many guardians each child can have.

  • Can I synchronize Spond with my calendar?

    Yes! You will be able to synchronize events with your calendar if you have the Spond app and you can change these settings within your profile.

  • How can I leave a group?

    Go to the group > press ‘more’ and scroll down to ‘leave group’.
