20/02/2024

Safeguarding Partnership Renewal

Spond, the leading sports club and team management solution, has announced the renewal of its partnership with Working with Parents in Sport (WWPIS). This collaboration aims to bolster safeguarding and communication in youth sports, focused on creating a positive and secure environment for young participants at all levels.

The Role of Safeguarding in Sport

WWPIS, which works with national governing bodies, talent programmes, football academies, sporting organisations, and schools all over the world, will leverage Spond’s one million UK users to disseminate valuable insights on safeguarding in sport, encouraging active participation among children and young people. It will also aim to foster positive motivation, and guide parents to support young participants more effectively.

Leadership Perspectives on Youth Sports

Gordon MacLelland, CEO at WWPIS, highlighted evolving needs in youth sports. He said: “The wellbeing of young people in sport has gained prominence. Coaches and parents face a complex set of rules and guidelines. With Spond’s commitment to promote best practice on safeguarding and communication in grassroots sports and academies, our partnership is perfectly placed to continue providing much-needed support and guidance.”

Spond’s Commitment to Streamlining Sports Management

Charlene Kemp, Commercial Sales Manager at Spond, said: “Spond strives to streamline club and team management, administration and communication. Our collaboration with WWPIS extends this commitment, helping us to support NGBs, clubs, schools and organisations not just with administration, but also safeguarding and compliance.”

Enhancing the Sporting Experience

Now in its third year, the partnership works to simplify the often complicated and time-consuming relationship between clubs, teams, parents and coaches. With Spond’s user-friendly platform and WWPIS’s expertise, the collaboration promises a more streamlined and positive sporting experience for young participants across the UK.
